Having worked on major projects throughout his career, Peter has over fifteen years experience and extensive training in lean manufacturing, problem solving, project management, systems analysis, process implementation and continuous process improvement across a variety of business sectors, both on a national and international basis.
Specialising in production processes – Just In time Production and Batch building – Peter is also highly skilled in Kaizen, standardised work, Kanban, visual management, value stream mapping, line balancing, production pacing, time studies, layout improvements, method time measurement, PFMEA (Process Failure modes), ergonomic assessments, method audits and performance control.
Peter is highly skilled at assisting organisations define and deliver operational plans, policies and procedures – both through developmental and implementation stages. He has held various positions ranging from an assembly team member, team leader, production process training and auditor, before moving into manufacturing engineering and continuous improvement roles.
Coming from a production assembly team background, Peter has an excellent knowledge of, and experience in, managing teams. He has excellent communication skills and has facilitated many cross-functional teams in both process improvements and problem solving.
With a broad range of skills and experience, Peter has worked on project in the UK, Europe and Asia, and is well-versed and skilled in training based on the Toyota methodology.
Passionate about helping customers improve their production and operational processes, Peter is currently leading the HOLMES ISS lean manufacturing service offering.
Peter is also a keen supporter of, and volunteer for, the National Autistic Society and Cancer Research UK.
